Art Therapy Specialization
This program is for Master's level professional candidates trained in the clinical fields such as marriage and family therapy, social work or psychology. It is also available as a specialization taken with the Master of Arts in Adlerian Counseling and Psychotherapy.
It is a six-course specialization that is designed to expose students to the expressive arts in both theory and practice. It will prepare students to work as professional counselors who use art-based strategies to accomplish treatment objectives. Coursework will utilize experiential and didactic methods of teaching to help students learn the essentials of art therapy techniques with clients. Students will learn methods applicable for individuals, families and groups within a variety of work settings.
Only Adler students and individuals with a clinical Master's degree can be admitted to the Art Therapy Specialization.
