Associate of Arts Degree in General Studies
Offered at the following campus(es): Florida, London, Heidelberg, Paris, Madrid, Leysin
Students who successfully complete a two-year program of study will earn the Associate of Arts degree. Candidates for the AA degree take courses in English, history, science, mathematics, literature and social studies, and learn fundamental elements of research, composition and reading comprehension, skills which can be applied to any personal, educational or professional endeavor.
AA Degree Requirements
The degree of Associate of Arts is conferred upon students who have satisfactorily completed the following requirements.General Requirements
Students must earn a minimum of 62 semester credits, composed of the Basic Courses and Area Courses (Download PDF below) and the remainder in elective courses.
No more than 2 credits in physical education may be included in the 62 credit requirement.
A cumulative grade point average of 2.00 (C) or above must be earned.
The final 33 credits must be completed in residence at Schiller International University.
A total of 36 credits in general education (basic and area courses) must be earned.
Art and Design Concentration
Offered at the following campus(es): London (only)
Creative individuals wishing to develop their artistic skills and to gain a firm foundation in the field of art may combine studies toward an Associate of Arts degree at Schiller International University with courses in art offered by London City College, a division of Schiller International University Inc. and located on SIU’s London Campus. LCC holds accreditation from the British Accrediting Council and is not accredited by the ACICS. Students who complete the AA degree in Art and Design may seek careers in commercial art, illustration or sales promotion or they may go on to further art or business studies.
