Trinity College strives to effectively prepare and train students who sense a geniune call into the ministry.  Just as Paul urged Timothy to "give attention...to exhortation and teaching" and to not "neglect the spiritual gift within you" so it is that the Pastoral Ministries Major is designed to focus on the careful exegesis and communication of Scriptural truth as well as to cultivate the gifts of the students within the program (I Timothy 4:13-14).

The Church Ministries major provides the student with the academic preparation necessary for ministry along with professional preparation in a particular area of ministry emphasis. Within the Church Ministries major students select an emphasis in Pastoral Ministry, Youth Ministry, or Worship Ministry.

The Pastoral Ministry emphasis provides the student with academic preparation necessary for ministry along with professional preparation in the areas of homiletics, interpersonal relationships, pastoral and evangelistic functions, leadership, and church administration. Students successfully completing this program will demonstrate:

• 1. Professional skills in preaching,
• 2. Professional skills in pastoral relationships and leadership, and
• 3. Spiritual depth and maturity.
