Criminal Justice
Students in this program are provided a general background in the history of Criminal Justice. Students receive instruction pertaining to legal terminology and practical application of communication skills necessary for a career in law enforcement. The security occupations studied include: private, federal, state, and local agencies.
Students are provided an in-depth approach to the study of criminal justice issues through case law, as it applies to constitutional issues, law enforcement, courts, and corrections. Students also participate in mock trials and related scenarios. Students are provided CPR/First Aid training and receive certification for the New York State Eight-Hour Security Guard Program. Participation in an internship with a criminal justice agency is also a requirement. (2-year program)
