Presentation

The Film Studies Program at California State University, San Marcos offers an interdisciplinary minor from a wide selection of classes in a number of departments in the College of Arts and Sciences.

The primary purpose of the Minor in Film Studies is to enhance student learning regarding the:

art of filmmaking

The unique aspect of this curriculum is its combined focus on production and interpretation. Students will be required to better understand the art of filmmaking and they will do so not only by analyzing films from a theoretical perspective but also by having the collaborative experience of making at least one short film.
