The topics covered will be matter, measurements, chemical reactions, reaction stochiometry, gases, thermochemistry, atomic structure, and chemical bonds.

Chemistry I Course Missions, Goals and Objectives:
As discussed in the Mission Statement of the College, Doctors of Chiropractic serve as primary health care providers.  In order to diagnose, interpret disease entitites as they relate to the vertebral subluxation it is essential that the student have a sound background in basic chemistry.  Completion of General Chemistry I lecture and lab should provide the student with basic understanding of:
1. Some of the basic particles of matter and of chemical lab procedures / safety.
2.  Some of the basics of chemical measurements and making molar solutions.
3. Some of the basic stochiometry involving chemical reactions.
4.  Some of the basics of gases using the universal gas law.
5. Some of the basics of thermodynamics as it relates to chemistry.
6. Some of the basics of atomic structure as it relates to chemical bonding.

Prerequisites: High School chemistry, algebra highly recommended
