MARKETING AND COOPERATIVE EDUCATION

The Marketing and Cooperative Education Program is designed to develop competent professionals in and for the major occupational areas within marketing.  Business Management, Marketing or Entrepreneurship and Cooperative Education classes are offered to help students reach their goals in their occupational areas.

Students enrolled in Business Management, Marketing or Entrepreneurship may also enroll in Cooperative Education. The cooperative education program uses the supervised on-the-job training and related classroom instruction for the development of occupational competence in a variety of careers.  Marketing and Cooperative Education classes are open to sophomores, juniors, and seniors.  The year long, hourly classes may be taken one at a time, or all the classes may be taken in one year.

Successful completion of Business Management, Marketing, or Entrepreneurship will give student one credit each.  Successful completion of Cooperative Education (Coop) will give the student one credit if she/he works an average of 10 hours per week or the student may receive two credits if he/she works an average of 20 hours per week.  If a student is enrolled in all three classes and cooperative education, he/she has the opportunity to earn five credits for the year.

Students enrolled in the Marketing and Cooperative Education program are eligible to join DECA, a co-curricular association of marketing students.

Students may receive college credit through articulation agreements with North Central Missouri College.  Students may earn three hours of college credit for each course or total of nine credit hours.

The Marketing and Cooperative Education program offers students the opportunity to take classes that are included in the A+ path, Business, Management and Technology.
