Southwest Florida College's computer programs recognize the interdependence of modern technology and computer techniques. Our teaching methods afford you the benefits of both fields by offering you the theoretical and practical approaches to gain a more thorough understanding of the modern business world. If you have a highly critical mind and think in abstract terms, computer science could be your ticket to a successful future.
The Network Security and Computer Forensics program is designed to train students for a career in the field of network security and computer forensics. The program is structured to provide the necessary skills to meet the increasing needs of organizations to understand, prepare for, respond to, and recover from threats to today's complex computer systems and networks. Students will study the essentials of network security and learn the skills required to implement security policies, plan multi-phased security and recovery audits, and properly design and integrate wireless LANs into existing environments. Students will also use forensic and hacker-prevention tools; administer, configure, design and troubleshoot network security using Firewalls, IDS and Encryption; and harden operation systems, networks and applications.
