Registered Nurse Program
The Nursing Program is approved by the Arkansas State Board of Nursing.
Associate of Applied Science in Nursing
also offering LPN to RN Transition Track
The Associate of Applied Science degree in Nursing is designed to prepare graduates to apply for the National Council Licensure Examination for Registered Nurses (NCLEX-RN) and to function as Registered Nurses. Graduates who attain RN licensure are prepared to provide client care at the beginning staff nurse level. General nursing education imparts a broad base of nursing knowledge. Those individuals wishing to pursue further education and/or a nursing specialty will have the necessary knowledge base upon which to advance their professional career. Nursing students complete clinical experiences in area healthcare facilities. The Nursing Program at NWACC has an overall high NCLEX-RN pass rate.
Nursing Degree Sequence
Plan to devote at least 40-50 hours per week to this Program as it is outlined below. Many students have found it quite advantageous to complete some or all of the general education prerequisite courses prior to entering the Nursing Program. Full-time employment during the nursing program is strongly discouraged. Check the College Catalog for prerequisites before enrolling in a class.
