Kiamichi Technology Center has a proven record of augmenting Southeastern Oklahoma's competitiveness in economic development. Kiamichi Technology Center continues to be the primary training resource for dozens of area industries and businesses.
Small Business Management
--a development program for small business operators--
This program component assists small business owners and managers in setting and achieving their goals through improved management, organization and operation.
Small businesses constitute 95 percent of all businesses in the U. S. and employe 40 percent of the workforce. However, four out of five new business start-ups fail each year. Greater management expertise can improve that statistic--expertise available through the Small Business Management component of Kiamichi Technology Center's Small Business Services [SBS] Program.
--how it works--
The program is based on a specific plan of instruction:
Participants attend periodic workshop meetings on specific management topics.
Business owners and/or operators can schedule appointments as needed with the SBS Consultant to help them evaluate and apply organizational techniques to their business.
The SBS Consultant accesses an advisory council of local management and professional people for workshop programs, advise and expertise to assist program participants.
Cost of tuition and instructional materials for the SBM component is covered in the $75 annual enrollment fee for Kiamichi Technology Center's Small Business Services [SBS] Program.
Applying proven business management principles, the SBS Consultant works with small business operators to evaluate the strengths and weaknesses of their enterprise. Through skills gained by participants in the SBM component, the deficiencies can be minimized and the strengths enhanced, easing the progress of the business person toward established goals and objectives.

your own small business--
