UC Irvine is one of 63 universities nationally elected to membership in the prestigious Association of American Universities. UC Irvine is the first public university with faculty receiving two Nobel prizes in two different fields -- chemistry and physics -- in the same year (1995).
UC Irvine is ranked in the nation's top 10 for information technology education by eWeek, a national high-tech magazine. UC Irvine is one of only two public universities given this distinction.
